Each team will work on 1 project and deliver the idea in front of seasoned venture capitalist, startup founder and incubator. The winning teams will get some cool prizes!
Zaky is the founder of Bukalapak.com, the largest online marketplace for small sellers in Indonesian. By the end of 2014, Bukalapak has had more than 150k individuals / small medium businesses joining the platfom. He graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung with Bachelor in Computer Science (with Honor) and previously worked as Managing Director of Suitmedia.
Albert is the co-founder and CEO of Kudo, technology company that develops cutting edge solution to enrich the e-commerce and payment market in Indonesia. Previously, he spent 4 years working in numbers of Fortune 100 companies namely Goldman Sachs in New York, BCG in Jakarta and Apple in Cupertino. He earned his MBA from Berkeley Haas School of Business, also his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Peng T. Ong
Monk's Hill Ventures
Peng T. Ong is one of the most successful technology entrepreneurs from Singapore. He was the founder and CEO of Interwoven, which had a successful IPO on NASDAQ. Prior to Interwoven, he was co-founder of Match.com (acquired by IAC). After Interwoven, Peng founded Encentuate (acquired by IBM), the leader in enterprise identity management. The three businesses he started now generate annual revenues that total more than $1 billion. Peng is now a Partner at Monk'sHill Ventures, $100 million venture capital targeting growth startups in Asia.
Iman Usman has been involved in social activism since he was 10 years old. He is the founder of Indonesian Future Leaders, one of the earliest pioneer among the 2000s Indonesia’s youth organizations wave. Having a huge concern toward education issues, Iman co-founded ruangguru.com, a platform aiming to connect students and quality private teachers. He earned his bachelor degree from University of Indonesia, majoring in International Relations, and his master degree from Columbia University, majoring in International Education Development.
The Boston Consulting Group
Haikal is a seasoned management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, currently serving as Principal with specialization in People & Organization Practice area. Apart from leading BCG Social Impact Team, Haikal is the Co-Author of "The Art of Sustainable Giving", BCG research publication about priorities to accelerate social enterprise growth in Indonesia. Previously, he's a Marketing Manager of Strategic Planning in Philip Morris International.
Adrian Li is the Founder & Managing Partner at Convergence Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in early stage tech ventures in Indonesia. Previously, independently and as a Rocket Internet MD, he co-founded ventures in China and Indonesia, including travel and eCommerce startup before cofounding Qraved, Jakarta’s leading restaurant directory. Adrian holds BA and MA from Cambridge University and an MBA from Stanford.
Vina is a Senior User Experience Designer at Blibli.com. Previously, she was UX Designer at Amazon in Seattle, US. Vina completed her Master's Degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from University of Washington, also her B.Sc in Industrial Engineering & Computer Science from Purdue University.
Amalia Maulana is Indonesia’s well-known brand consultant and ethnographer. She founded ETNOMARK Consulting in 2009, a research and consulting company that focuses on using ethnography as a powerful qualitative research tool. Amalia, who earned her PhD from University of South Wales, is currently a faculty member at IPMI Business School and Binus Business School. She writes in various newspapers and magazines columns, and so far has published 2 books, with the latest titled “BRANDMATES: Mengubah Just Friends menjadi Soulmates” (2012).
Faustine is responsible for leading and developing HotelQuickly markets in Indonesia and Malaysia. A graduate of The London School of Public Relations, She began her career at the young age of 17 and has experienced many different industries including Procurement, Architecture, Construction and Recruitment. Her extensive experience, has created a wide network in Indonesia and Malaysia. People person, social networker and travel, are 3 points to describe who she is!
Moses is the Co-Founder and CEO of Xendit, a mobile P2P payments for Southeast Asia that was part of Y Combinator's Spring 2015 startups. Xendit won hackathon competition by Andressen Horowitz and was a finalist in Global Social Venture Competition. Moses just finished his MBA in University of California, Berkeley - Haas School of Business. Previously, Moses worked in Boston Consulting Group and Amazon.
Christian Sutardi is the co-founder of Fabelio.com, a furniture e-commerce startup aiming to disrupt Asia’s furniture market. Previously, he was an associate at Monk’s Hill Venture, and also the co-founder of Lolabox, a beauty box service startup.
Angga is a User Research & Design Specialist at Pulse Lab, a flagship innovation initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General on big data. For the past 9 years working in Indonesia and Denmark, he has collected experiences in human-centered design, applied creativity, brand strategy, and finance. Angga completed his Master's Degree in Organizational Innovation & Entrepreneurship from Copenhagen Business School, also Master of Interaction Design & Multimedia from IT University of Copenhagen.
Founded in 2014, ASEAN Business & Economics Student Association is a platform for college students to learn real-life business experience through signature programs in entrepreneurship, management consulting and economics/finance.
